  • Mala is a Sanskrit word meaning garland. Traditionally, a mala consists of 108 beads or seeds + 1 additional bead called the Sumeru or Guru bead. The traditional knot between each bead is called Brahma Granthi (or Brahma's knot). All malas on this site are hand-knotted in the traditional manner.

Each mala is designed for the meditative practice of japa or as a piece of jewelry.
